Good morning
Sadly NNA officials spent the majority of Round 6 games being called to courts due to inappropriate sideline behaviour towards young umpires.
Please ensure:
Young umpires allocated to games are well supported; and
Parents/Supporters and Coaches refrain from abusing and yelling at umpires.
Remind your teams, that if there is an issue with a game, they should contact the office immediately. Assistance can be provided.
NNA has joined the Statewide Shoosh for Kids campaign, promoting positive spectator behaviour. These messages have been broadcast at the courts during the month of May.
Remember:
We want to ensure that everyone’s experiences are positive at Junior sport.
We want everyone, especially children, to continue participating in sport.
We are reminding spectators about the importance of kids having a positive environment to enjoy their sport.
Let’s keep kids participating in sport. Keep it positive. Keep it fun.
Show respect to kids and officials.
The coaches, umpires, administrators and canteen at junior sport are all volunteers. Remember this and appreciate their efforts.
Umpires are volunteers and make mistakes, just like you and me. Respect their decisions. Think before you speak. Keep it positive, keep it fun.
Please also remind your spectators, parents, coaches (and players) that inappropriate behaviour towards umpires is captured under the NNSW Disciplinary Policy.
