All Players, Parents, Coaches, Managers and Volunteers,
West Leagues Netball Club has some very exciting news to share with you all.
West Leagues Netball Club commenced in February, 1965. The Club was originally known as the Lambton Junior Basketball Club and was re-named West Leagues Netball Club in 1971.
In 1968 The Wests Group agreed to sponsor the Club and have continued to do so.
We have always appreciated and acknowledged the West Group as our sponsor. This has allowed us to foster healthy sport participation for our local girls plus give opportunities for these girls at an elite level.
44 years ago Alma Tate was instrumental in securing our current Clubhouse for us which has now become inadequate for our needs.
We would like to announce The Wests Group will be
updating our Netball Facilities & Courts
This project highlights their commitment to investing
in grassroots female sport.
New Netball Facilities – the redevelopment will provide a purpose built clubhouse, enhancing safety and comfort for over 500 players across 55 teams, as well as providing modern amenities for netball executive, umpires, parents/families, coaches and the wider netball community.
The proposed development will significantly enhance the amenities available to all Club Members, providing modern, safe and accessible facilities.
The new clubhouse will be located at the western end of the current bowling club site, with improved access and security for netball players. Plan attached.
The Netball courts will be upgraded and resurfaced to ensure players safety and quality of play. We have also been successful in securing a grant from NSW Government which will also help towards the resurfacing and repairs to the courts.
The courts will be completed by the end of 2024 a good start for the 2025 netball season. The new clubhouse should be completed at the end of 2025.
Thank you to Phil Gardner and the Directors for this opportunity for our Club. You cannot believe how excited the Executive Committee are and we know all of you will be too
